Products for sale

Print Services sells many products including memory sticks, portable hard drives, memory cards, optical mice, USB hubs, cables and accessories for mobile devices.  Many of these items are on display in the glass cabinet located on the ground floor of Fountains, and you can purchase these items by visiting the Service Desk.  We also sell a wide range of general stationery items which can be purchased from either the Service Desk or the stationery vending machine.  The stationery vending machine is also located on the ground floor and is available 24/7, selling many products including pens, batteries, glue sticks and Tipp-ex.

Print Credits

All new users automatically receive £2.00 free print credit when you start at York St John.  If you need more, you can top up your account online with a debit or credit card.  If you do not own a debit or credit card and need to top-up with cash, you can do this at the Service Desk in Fountains (minimum top up is £2.00).  Please note that we are unable to issue refunds on any unused print credit, so please ensure you only top-up what you need.

Printing & Photocopying

We offer a print/copy service for students - electronic work can be emailed to printservices@yorksj.ac.uk and hard copy work can be dropped off at the Service Desk, where you can fill out an order form.  We offer a 24 hour turnaround on the majority of work.

Binding

We offer 2 types of binding; Comb Binding and Heat Binding - both are priced at £1.50 per document.  Please visit the Service Desk in Fountains to arrange to have your document bound.

Laminating

Need something laminated?  We use high quality laminating pouches which are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.  Prices per sheet are A4 - 50p and A3 - 80p.  

Dissertations & Assignments

If you would like your dissertation printing and binding then simply email it as an attachment to printservices@yorksj.ac.uk.  In your email please state how you would it printing including information such as the following:

• Single-sided or double-sided printing?
• Colour or Black and White printing?
• Comb Binding or Heat Binding? (Comb Binding is the most popular choice for dissertations)
• Your contact details

We highly recommend sending your dissertation in PDF format.

How long will it take?

Print services will turn around standard student work (including dissertation printing and binding) within 24 hours Monday-Thursday only. For example if you emailed your dissertation to us at 10 am on Thursday, it would be ready to collect no later than 10 am on Friday.

How much will it cost?

• A4 Black and White printing - 4p per side
• A4 Colour printing - 15p per side
• Binding - £1.50 per dissertation
