What are Student Services Reps?

Our Student Services Reps are all York St John students, who are passionate about the University and assist Student Services in a range of areas.  It is a paid position but also provides an opportunity to develop employability skills, enhance your CV and get more out of your time at university.

What does the role involve?

SSRs are involved in a number of activities that assist Student Services in delivering projects and programmes across the year.

Such activities can include:

  • Assisting Student Services throughout Welcome Week
  • Helping new students find lecture/seminar locations
  • Assisting with the enrolment of new students
  • Supporting Student Services with individual campaigns

Specialist Projects

As a Student Services Rep you will be given the opportunity to be involved in one (or more) of a number of specialist projects.  The current projects which SSRs are involved with are Global Guides and Global Campus, First in Family Programme, and Senior Peer Support.  Working on these projects allows them to be a co-creator and input into the planning, delivery and evaluation in close co-operation with the Student Success & Engagement Team.

How and when can I apply?

As a general rule we recruit in mid-late Semester 2 as preparation for the following academic year.  When recruitment opens you will need to complete an application form and attend a group interview.
