Tuition fee reduction and bursary

The UK government and York St John are committed to promoting study abroad by offering a generous tuition fee reduction for all participants.  For students completing a full year abroad this is an 85% discount on the years tuition fees.  Tuition fees are not paid to host institutions abroad. 

Students going to non-European countries will also be eligible for a £750 YSJ bursary subject to approval. 

Travel Grant

If you Study Abroad you may be eligible for a travel grant from Student Finance England, depending on household income, to help fund flights, essential expenses, and visas. Please contact Student Finance England for more information. 

Maintenance Loan

You will continue to receive this as usual. 

£500 BUTEX Scholarship

Each year BUTEX (British Universities Transatlantic Exchange Association) award a number of £500 scholarships to students studying outside Europe for a semester or a year. For more information and to apply, please visit the BUTEX website.
