If you are ill, you should inform the University of your absence as soon as is reasonably possible. If you have a minor ailment lasting less than seven days, you may self-certify via the online Reporting Absence form.

Intervening Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays count as sick days when calculating whether your illness has lasted seven days or more.

Absences of seven days or more require independent medical certification. Please note that you may be charged by the medical centre or will need to meet the costs of any charge made by a GP.
