FAQ 233
What do the Disability Advice Team do?

The Disability Advice team coordinate additional support if you have a disability, long term health condition, mental health condition or a specific learning difficulty (SpLD). You might not feel that you have a disability, or you dislike the term, but the adjustments and support available may make a real difference in helping you to achieve your goals. Current students who access support have a wide range of disabilities and health conditions including epilepsy, diabetes, depression, anxiety, dyslexia, and Asperger's. If you feel you are entitled to reasonable adjustments or have accessibility needs, a Disability Adviser can meet with you to discuss your needs and to help you apply for funding.

We offer a range of support covering many areas, including:

  • Extra time in exams
  • Specialist equipment and software
  • Assist dog sessions
  • Specialist assistive technology training
  • Library assistance
  • Accessible accommodation

We can liaise with:
